New! Mt Rainier and a Gondola Ride up Crystal Mountain. Check out the less-visited side of Mt Rainier. Sunrise, unlike Paradise, gets so much snow they can only open a short while each summer. The gondola is open winters for skiers and summers for general visitors and hikers. The restaurant at the top of Crystal is the highest restaurant in the state with an amazing view of Mt Rainier and the White river valley. As for Sunrise in the Mt Rainier National Park, this location is only available late July through early September. The glaciers are beautiful at Sunrise, and the trails and wildflowers such a peaceful experience.
